Summary
Captain Kirk acts strangely and ends up taking the ship into the Romulan neutral zone where they are surrounded by Romulans, the Romulan commander then takes a interest in Mr. Spock.
Our Take
A tense cloak-and-dagger hour that leans on Shatner playing crazy, which turns out to be a lot of fun. The Romulan commander and Spock share some genuinely charged scenes, and the twists mostly hold up. The fake ears gag is silly but forgivable. This is one of season 3’s stronger outings and worth your time.
