Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Lex Luthor halts the invasion by temporarily weakening Superman. The Man of Steel has time to recover from Darkseid’s control, but he is imprisoned by the military and he is sentenced to death. Lois helps Superman escape so that he may pursue Darkseid.
Our Take
A grim, satisfying close to the series, with real weight behind Superman’s fight to win back Earth’s trust after Darkseid’s brainwashing. The final showdown with Darkseid is brutal and brief in the best way, and Luthor’s pettiness lands as well as ever. It rushes a few emotional beats, but as a finale it earns its darkness. Worth your time.
