The Way of All Flesh

Episode Summary & Review

Summary

Thanks to the orchestrations of Luthor, terrorist John Corben becomes Metallo, a skin covered cyborg with a Kryptonite heart. Luthor then sets the supervillain on a quest to kill Superman, but Corben begins to question his role as Metallo when he lacks any human senses in the progress.

Our Take

This one’s a middling villain origin episode that rushes Corben from human to Metallo in the first few minutes, so his later crisis never lands with much weight. The body horror angle is genuinely creepy and the fights are decent, but Luthor’s scheming feels recycled. Fine to watch once, though nothing here you’ll remember by next week.
